by Solano Family & Children's Services

Child Care Providers of Solano County; Join us, as we celebrate YOU!

About this Event

To say that being a child care provider this past year has been challenging would be an understatement! Providers were essential long before COVID-19, but the pandemic has underscored how essential child care is. Child care provides opportunities for families to go to work, children to learn, businesses to operate and the economy to grow. Child care providers are “opportunity makers.” Child care providers are brain-builders. YOU are among our nation’s unsung heroes!

Join us for an evening of special recognition and acknowledgment, guest speakers, and sharing.

Child Care Provider Appreciation Day Events

PROCLAIMING CHILD CARE PROVIDER

APPRECIATION DAY

National Child Care Provider Day is annually celebrated on the Friday before Mother’s Day. This special day recognizes child care providers, teachers, and other educators of young children across our nation.

As we have seen through the COVID pandemic, child care is an essential service and Solano Family & Children’s Services (SFCS) believes that child care providers should be recognized for their dedication, commitment, and perseverance. As a result, SFCS is presenting a Resolution of the Solano County Board of Supervisors proclaiming May 7, 2021, as

“Child Care Provider Appreciation Day” in Solano County.

Please join us on April 27, 2021 at 5:30 PM
for a presentation of the Resolution to the First 5 Commission.

Two child care providers will be speaking briefly on what being a licensed provider means to them

Reminder: Caring for Children in Mixed Age Groups Training Event - April 17th

Caring for Children in Mixed Age Groups

by Solano Family & Children's Services

Come and learn useful strategies to benefit mixed-age children in a group setting

About this Event

Unlike many childcare settings, family childcare homes and some center-based care settings integrate children of different ages. This interaction results in greater opportunities for children to form friendships and relationships than they could have in a group of same-age children. Mixed-age settings provide children with opportunities to observe, emulate and initiate skills and behaviors that can be monitored in a safe and developmentally appropriate manner. Participants will engage in:

  • the role of the adult as a careful planner
  • theoretical frameworks that support the importance of play
  • setting up a safe place for all ages to learn and grow
  • strategies to benefit mixed-age children in a group setting

Date And Time: Saturday, April 17, 2021 -  9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

In English and Spanish
